Nitron's new EVO kits already making an impact on track |
Nitron made an immediate impact on the EVO
scene with their first competition suspension kits. Having
only supplied one road car kit Nitron supplied NTR Race
kits to Owen Developments for the LMA Euro Saloon Championship
and Car Planet Racing for their Time Attack Pro Class car.
At the first round of the Time Attack Series at Oulton Park
Gareth Lloyd in the Car Planet Racing Evo 6 finished a highly
credible 3rd in the Pro Class, especially considering the last
minute completion of the highly modified car. The team had
worked flat out to get to a test the day before, eventually
leaving the pits with half an hour to go, only for the gearbox
to fail! A very long night then ensued as the team changed
the 'box and travelled up to Oulton. Nitron are confident
they can take the fight to Chris Ward and Olly Clark in the next
round with some testing of their new car.

Meanwhile in the LMA Euro Saloon Championship the Owen
Developments Evo was making waves with Mark Harrison at the
wheel. Another car finished at the last minute (6pm the
night before!), Mark stuck it straight on the front row of the
grid, and in a car with many modifications over the winter and
dampers set at factory settings. Unfortunately in the race
the car suffered from intermittent total boost loss (later
traced to a faulty wastegate valve) so the best Mark could
manage was 7th, still not bad at all considering the fault
demoted him to last at one point. Owens were delighted
with the handling from the Nitrons and look forward to fitting
them to customer cars in the very near future.

Nitron also took 2nd place in the RWD Class of the Time Attack
with the Whifbitz Toyota Supra driven by Paul Whiffin, a very
commendable result considering it was Paul's first visit to the
technical Oulton Park circuit.
